A well-known Greek political figure and former close associate of ex-Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Failos Kranidiotis, published a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on September 8, 2025, calling for a new Western Crusade in alliance with Israel, with the explicit aim of subjugating Muslim countries, looting their wealth, and reducing their people to ‘camel drivers’

“We need a new Crusade, in cooperation with Israel, and a new Colonialism, in order to crush jihadism, to subjugate the countries that support it, and for the West to seize and exploit all their wealth, so that they become camel drivers again.”
